Medical students at the University of the West Indies Mona campus arenow be able to make significant savings off the cost of their books, with the introduction of a new tablet computer loaded with electronic versions of all their course text books.
Last week, Hon Julian Robinson MP, who is also Minister of State in the Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining met with officials of UWI to endorse the initiative, which aims to have 75% of all UWI students using the tablet and its software services by the 2013/2014 academic year.
