The constituency of St Andrew South Eastern comprises the Trafalgar and Vineyard Town electoral divisions, and has approximately 19,000 electors.
St Andrew South East is a traditional People’s National Party seat, with the PNP winning the seat eight of nine contested elections since the seat was created in 1967. The constituency is currently represented in parliament by Hon. Julian J. Robinson of the PNP, who first became MP following his victory in the December 29, 2011 General Elections. Previously, the seat was held by former education Minister Maxine Henry Wilson and former housing minister Easton Douglas, both of the PNP. St Andrew South Eastern is represented on the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) by Deputy Mayor of the KSAC, Councillor Andrew Swaby, who represents the Vineyard Town Division and by Councillor Kari Douglas, who represents the Trafalgar Division, both of whom were elected to the parish council in the Local Government Elections of March 26, 2012. |

_South East St Andrew is unique in character – it comprises longstanding residential neighborhoods of varying income levels, including the “Golden Triangle”, where townhouses can cost up to USD $1 million, to the inner-city communities of McGregor Gully, Nannyville, Woodford Park and others.The constituency also encompasses much of the nerve centre of corporate
and commercial Jamaica in Liguanea, Half Way Tree, New Kingston and
Cross Roads.

St Andrew home, among them the National Stadium Complex, Up Park Camp (headquarters of the Jamaica Defence Force), Vale Royal (the Prime Minister’s official residence), Emancipation Park, the Little Theatre and the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Library, headquarters of the Jamaica Library Service.

The constituency also is home to a number of the island’s top educational institutions, notably the highest number of recognized tertiary level institutions – Mico University, International University of the Caribbean, EXED Community College, the Kingston School of Nursing, the Jamaica Dental School and the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
In addition, S.E. St Andrew boasts the highest concentration of Jamaica's elite high schools – Campion College, Ardenne High School, St Andrews High School for Girls, Wolmers Boys School, Wolmers Girls School, Excelsior High and St Hugh's Girl's School.
S.E. St Andrew also leads Jamaica with the highest number of hospitals: St Josephs Hospital, Nutall Hospital, Medical Associates Hospital and the Bustamante Children’s Hospital, the largest hospital for children in the English-speaking Caribbean.
